Mobile Citizen partner and tireless digital inclusion advocate, the National Digitial Inclusion Alliance (NDIA), recently asked the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), to allow banks under its purview to seek Community Reinvestment Act credit for their financial support of community digital inclusion programs serving low and moderate income households in their lending areas.

In August, the OCC released an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking public comments on “modernizing” the regulatory framework by which it implements its CRA responsibilities. NDIA recently submitted public comments in support of allowing these banks greater flexibility in utilizing this credit for expanded digital inclusion work.
